It’s finally happened, Linux successfully running on the iPhone, 3g, and first gen iPod Touch. This is the first alternative operating system available for the iPhone. This is considered a draft version, more proof of concept than anything else, but none the less quite successful and impressive. The software includes Linux 2.6 Kernel, and the bare essentials for running command line. All the iPhone goodies such as touch screen, audio, networking, and accelorometer do not have any driver support at this time.
