This battle has been well documented over at theApplBlog.com, and looks like it will once again pick up speed. I personally don’t need Flash, but it would bring forth an all new level of functionality, without the need of a sometimes messy jail break.

This new found hope in seeing Flash come to the iPhone is thanks to Adobe’s announcement of an ARM-Optimized version of Flash to be ready by February 2009. Details are still somewhat light, but by using OpenGL ES 2.0 capable hardware, and faster processors Adobe hopes to bring Flash to more portable dev ices. Adobe has made this announcement with the intensions of informing all mobile phone users, and manufactures but it seems a bit tailored to the iPhone’s hardware.

Only time will tell what this really means to the iPhone community but, with the ever expanding app store, the introduction of Flash we may tap into a whole new realm of development for mobile devices.
